Come and See!

Got questions about life?

#tryAlpha

Have you got questions about what life is all about? Alpha is a chance to explore the meaning of life, ask questions, and share your point of view. If you have got questions, as we all do, bring them to Alpha and you will find a place where questions are welcome and encouraged.

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha courses run all around the world in every denomination.

Alpha is an opportunity to explore life, faith, and meaning. Come and see!

Typically, first up at Alpha, there’s food:

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. Most sessions start with food because it’s a great way to build community and get to know each other. Just call Tom at 612.414.3704 and set that up—let him know what you like on your pizza!

Then, a talk:

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long and delivered each week over about eleven weeks, the talks can be given live or played on video. At Alpha, we watch the Alpha Film Series. Each talk explores the big issues around faith and unpacks the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

Followed by discussion:

Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspectives in an honest, friendly, and open environment.

Everyone is welcome.

Alpha is a multi-week course on the questions of life from a Christian perspective. An Alpha session encourages discussion, sharing of viewpoints, fun, and getting to know one another while exploring what life is all about. The course began in an Anglican church in the heart of downtown London, Holy Trinity Brompton, over 20 years ago. Alpha is now running in countries all around the world.

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and creates conversation. Everyone is welcome at Alpha. The Alpha course runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it, even the party room at the Bloomington Davanni’s.

But for now, Alpha is online.

So, message us and we will see you Tuesday nights!

No two Alphas look the same, but generally, they have three key things in common: food, a talk, and good conversation. Food scholarships available.
